distraught about the lack of benefit of doubt I
have been shown in any of this, and I am *still*
rethinking my commitment to RinkWorks. I don't
get why I should bust my gut and try so hard when
the first real failure is met with such
uncompromising criticism.

First of all, a disclaimer: I was only there for
the first part of the joke, due to browser
troubles. I only have second-hand information
about whether it was played out for too long and
the entire "framing" bit. That said, I'll also
say that I thought the part that I saw was funny,
just because of the ridiculous way the heavily
filtered lines turned out. I was a bit offended
by some of what was said and what was missed by
the filters, but, hey, I try not to worry about
stuff like that too often.

Considering what the situation seems to have
turned into, most of what I could say has been
said before, and better. What I will say is that
anyone who knows Sam and Dave at all knows that
they wouldn't do something malicious for a laugh.
If the joke was carried too far, or if some
people didn't play along as they hoped they would,
it was just a mistake. Everyone makes them. The
thing is, anyone who has been around RinkWorks
for any time at all has so much more to thank Sam
and Dave for that it should out-balance something
silly like this. Besides, I know that my
annoyance-to-laughter ratio is much worse than
either of theirs will ever be. They've cut me
slack plenty of times, so I sure as heck would do
the same for them.

I hope that at least some of what I'm trying to
say comes through (as I'm rather skilled at
missing my point), and that you aren't serious
about reconsidering RinkWorks, Sam.
