Well, we actually don't have (or want) cable TV, so the DirecTV thing is not even an issue. As for the DSL, we've talked about it, but it would be a fair bit more expensive, and right now, we have five email addresses and 50 MB of webspace with our cable modem provider, which is very key since we're running a network with two IPs. Most DSL providers would not give us the extra email addresses or the webspace, and would still charge us more money (and a LOT more to get a second IP). Maybe it's just the area we live in... Our final reason for staying with our current ISP is that we're sick of having to inform people of our new emails, and we both hate being dependent on web based email addresses like hotmail or yahoo. I like my current "professional" email addy: donald.jackson@home.com. Even my computer illiterate relatives can always remember that one. :-)
