Well, up here in Alberta I think we make some effort to keep the air relitively clean. I think that the huge boreal forests that take up the vast majority of the province help in that regard too. Even my city has a huge (for a city) forest in it, complete with a river! As for the cold part, I can agree with that. I'm cold now. The air is currently around 0*C (32*F), and it's in the middle of the day. It gets much colder in the nighttime. I guess elevation and latitude have something to do with that, and the fact that we don't get any warm air currents from the ocean. I'm sure that none of us mind giving you some of our cold air. Now, can we get some of your warm air in exchange or do I have to wait until the next Chinook to get some? (I never heard of a "Tennessee Clipper" so...hrm...)

Well, I believe that Detroit (or, at least I think it was Detroit. It might have been another city) thought up selling fresh, clean air. There are little air 'booths' along some sidewalks and you can enter one, pay a dollar, and get fresh air for, like, a minute. [Source -- a 2 year old TLC program] It's sort of scary to think of what the air quality must be like if those things become necassery though. I'm glad that Edmonton doesn't need them.
