That's a real pity. I give blood here in the UK on a regular basis. I've just given my 20th donation. We get a bronze badge after 12, a silver at 25 and a gold at 50. I don't know what you get when you get to 100 or more.

I would also like to say; We lie down on a gurney-type bed thing, so that:

1) I have never yet seen my blood either going down a tube or into a bag.

2) I feel the needle slightly going in, but I've never felt it coming out.

3) I have never felt the slightest bit ill when getting off the gurney and going for the cup of coffee afterwards.
