Or swimming pools, or even really big puddles. If it's water, you can float some sort of a boat on it somehow, if you try hard enough. :-)

We do have rivers, and I've been on several canoeing trips on some of them (including a week long thing with my dad when I was ten or so). There's even a river running right through Calgary-- I could walk to it in about half an hour from home, or ten minutes from work. But none of my options are deep enough for a REAL boat... I've been on some ferries, though, and they're not much better... Maybe I'll build a raft and hop on the river and follow it until I get to an ocean (probably the Arctic Ocean, I'd better pack some warm clothes). Then when I get there I'll steal a real boat... Yeah, and then I'll live life as a pirate in the Arctic Ocean, stealing from cruise ships and getting scurvy when I forget to eat my citrus fruits... That'll be /real/ living...
