Well, I'd say this election proves that your vote counts if you live in Florida. :-P

Seriously, though- I don't think the electoral college would be all that bad- if, that is, the electors were required to vote for whoever got the popular vote in their state. I mean, at least that way, we'd know that the majority of the popular vote went to the winner.

The way it works now, your electors are under no obligation to vote for the canditate who wins in your state. I was amazed, watching the news last night, to see states where Bush won the popular vote, and yet they were still projected to go to Gore.

I also discovered how little I really care about who wins. Isn't that sad?
