Here in Italy, only a few people celebrate Halloween. Usually they dress up for a party in someone's house or at a disco.

Anyway, years ago I was at a friend's house; it was night. We were having some fun chatting about ourselves, listening to music, drinking a bit. Suddenly I was hit by a sense of sadness and something in me started to fight against a pain; I felt a voice whispering me about all the pain in the world; I felt my inner voice crying loudly, trying to react to that sense of death that was crushing my soul; my friend looked at me and said, calmly, "Someone died just now", in the same way one can say "it's ten o'clock". Or she didn't say it?
I rushed to the bathroom to wash my face, take a breath and try to control myself; at any rate, I've always been a cool and rational person. Maybe I drank too much.
I went back to the dining room and forgot that moment of sickness.

Two days after, I met that friend at University and I, for no reason at all, told her of what happened to me. I almost took a week to get over her reply: that night, a girl in the neighbourhood committed suicide about at the same time I was feeling sick; moreover, also my friend felt the same. She was convinced that the girl's soul tried to communicate with us, asking for help; I still remember that sad feeling; I still have in my ears the loud cry of a soul that didn't want to go away from our world and asked me for help, before disappearing without a whisper.
