We also visited my sister in Ontario, Calif. and attended a five day teacher's convention. It took five weeks. We spent between $600 and $700, not counting a second hand car that we bought in Steamboat Springs.

I love hearing all of this stuff! What are your kids memories of that 1970 trip. I imagine they remember it well and probably laugh about it today. I know I remember and love thinking about trips like that with my parents.
