I have too much fun letting them down or playing along and promising the earth to change the number. Besides, yellow pages seem to have caught on and removed the directory listing.

I don't know what it is with our phone number (or our address, for that matter) but for the first two months or so after we moved in, we constantly got calls for all sorts of different people. I could understand getting calls for one person- but really, how many other people could have just recently had this number?

We also get a lot of mail for people that don't live here. The amusing thing is that we showed the mail to our landlady, and she's never heard of some of these people- and they certainly didn't live at this address in the past however many years she's been here. (Which I think is at least twenty, by the way.)
