First scene, they are stuck in traffic, not knowing what to do, and three options show up on the screen that are very general. One is checked, and we see our couple agree and, even though they say they are going to park, it looks like they get out of their car in the middle of traffic and pull out their mountain bikes from the back (large interior) and bike through the mess.

Nope... they didn't have that one at the time, so I'd have to say that it's a new concept that must die. The eskimo commercial (via storyboards and this marketing rep's naration) was essentially the eskimo scooping up some snow into the cooler, then placing it into it's built-in spot between the two front seats. Then we see him place a surf board on the roof rack, and the dog getting in the car. Then the stereotypical dashed-lines-moving-accross-a-map motif to symbolize his journey. We then see him park on the beach, dump out the snow, and retreive his surfboard. Finish off with a shot of the eskimo entering the surf in the background while the dog lays down in the pile of snow in the foreground.

They were aiming for its versatility. If it was up to me, I would add a quick stop to pick up a kid at school (easily maneuvering through the snow), and a quick stop at a grocery store followed by an interior shot of the cargo area with sectional thingies to hold those *odd* items.
Thus, showing that it's great for all of those everyday chores, plus the beach road trip while highlighting some special features. Then I'd find the guy who designed the exterior and clock him upside the head with a batleth, and tell him that I'm doing him a favor. Oy vay.
