The next most appropriate reference I can find is the death of Moses (Deu 34:5-7), and this is very clearly a physical death enacted for lack of faith in the LORD.
Here's a few references, in no particular order.
Romans 6:23 is the most famous pertinent verse. 1 Corinthians 15:22 explains it very clearly and succinctly. Romans 5:12-20 are the most pertinent verses.
Romans 6:1-14, Ephesians 2:1-2, and Ezekiel 18:4 are excellent and extremely revelant.
Also good are Psalm 23:4, Proverbs 8:36 and 14:12, Isaiah 25:8 and 53:12, John 5:24, Deuteronomy 24:16, Ezekiel 3:18 and 33:8, and John 11:26.
I'm sure there are others, but these are the ones I found. Thank God for concordances. Chapter and verse numbers, too! How in the world did they find specific passages before the numbers were put in? (Well, I can answer that--priests memorized huge portions of the text.)
