> Yes, I've been doing similar things lately, and yes, my system sounds similar to yours. Maybe there are new drivers for your modem? However, I had some such problem and, if I recall correctly, reinstalling the NIC seemed to fix the problem. (I'll ask my fiance when I get off work, since he knows more about this stuff than me.)

Thanks for the advice. I don't actually know what NIC is, possibly 'Network Interface ' something?

I've come to the conclusion that the modem simply overheated. It has been very warm the past few days.

Now, it's sunny, so I'm going to enjoy it.
