All the transplanted Southerners out here get that certain gleam in their eyes when they talk about Krispy Kremes...I don't quite see the attraction, myself. But then, I'm more of a "cake" donut person. How about a reader poll--cake or glazed?

Ah yes, Krispy Kreme. We do not have Krispy Kreme stores where I live. But they do have Krispy Kreme donuts in cases at United Dairy Farmers convenience stores. I dont' know where they come from...there must be a central Krispy Kreme warehouse somewhere and a truck that makes daily deliveries.

I went to college in Florida, and Dunkin Donuts was unheard of there. Krispy Kreme was everywhere. I rather liked their creme-filled donuts, and their glazed donuts were excellent. The last time I enjoyed a Krispy Kreme donut was when we visited a friend for a few days in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

I sometimes listen to a program on the local classical radio station called "From the Top" which featuers young musicians. There was one young girl who played the violin who sang on the show a jingle she had made up about Krispy Kreme donuts and how they had helped her to become a better violin player. I thought it was pretty funny. The show is recorded in New York City, and the host had never heard of Krispy Kreme donuts before.
