I'm a transplanted Yankee living in southwest Virginia. From time to time my friends and co-wokers pick on my pronunciations (I'm told that there is no "w" in call). I must also ask for translations from time to time. Today a word came up that I don't understand & I've been challenged to find the meaning. I'm hoping you can help me!!!!

The word is pronounced "ferkin" as in tin ferkin. What does this mean???? I would appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thank you!!
