Alice in the Land of Shrieking Lunatics

Sam's review of TV's "Alice in Wonderland", which aired last night, sure seems pretty much in accord with my own feelings about the movie...at least, the part I bothered to watch. A lot of my time was spent watching the antics of our new baby hamster, and listening to the always-shrill dialogue pouring forth from the television in the other room. When I did sit to watch parts of the movie, it was somehow far more grating than I had expected, even knowing ahead of time that Wonderland is supposed to be a nonsensical and somewhat disturbing place to visit. It had, I guess, very little genuine charm to offset the lunacy and the high-decibel delivery of the script. Maybe I'm being cantankerous or something; it just wasn't what I had hoped for. Good thing the hamster was there. :-)

Iss "at least Alice wasn't in 'SpiceWorld'" achar
