I don't see why it's such a bad thing for the Journal to publish the results of the awards ahead of time. I'd be interested to hear why everyone that's been lambasting the paper's so upset.

My own opinion is that the Oscars are meaningless anyway and there's no reason to hold them on such a pedestal. If the Journal thinks they know who's going to win, that's news, and they should publish it. And they were almost entirely correct, too, which I think shows that they were at least being journalistically responsible.
