I know Rusty Wallace and Dale Earnhardt, but that's the extent of my racecar driver knowledge, and I'm not sure if they even predate the song. But either way, what the heck would they be doing in JAIL, and what does that have to do with commuting home on a crowded highway?

Darrell Waltrip - 3 time champion, retiring next year.
Richard Petty -The King
Mark Martin - Currently the best driver in the business, but has never won a championship! (go figure!)
Rusty Wallace - short track specialist, has won one championship
Dale Earnhart - no comment
About the "in jail" part. I assume it means that the people who think they are race car drivers during rush hour should be in jail.
Isn't there another state or two that can sing better than Alabama?
