Every year I not only try to pick the Oscar winners, I try to pick the nominees. I made my picks in the top 6 categories, and did very well this year: 5 out of 5 in Best Director; 4 out of 5 in Best Picture, Actor, Actress, and Supporting Actor; and 3 out of 5 in Supporting Actress, which even beforehand I said was the toughest category to call this year. So 24 out of 30, not bad a-tall.

Hopefully I'll do better with the actual winners than I did last year...I think I barely got over half (I include all categories, including the documentaries and such). My record was 20 out of 23 in 1993, when I only missed Supporting Actress (Anna Paquin??), Art Direction, and Foreign Film.

Well, now it's time for that part of the year I love so much...the fevered predictions, changing your mind, changing it back, coming up with wild theories as to who's going to pull off an upset, etc. I swear, this is my version of the Super Bowl.
