It's not like that at all. Lots of people like to eat bagels with cream cheese and lox (smoked salmon). Salmon cream cheese combines the two into a single topping. You just wouldn't use it to make cheesecake.

It's like buying peanut butter and jelly in the same jar. A little weird, but it makes sense.
