You might argue that they could only *bend* the laws of physics. They couldn't, for instance, fly, they could only *pause* in the air or jump farther than normal. But they still had to comply, eventually, to the laws. And I'd have to agree that you'd be right. But I still wonder how the mind could have that kind of a grasp on the reality of things and have absolutely *no* effect on death.

The reason that Neo looked the same both inside and outside of The Matrix was because Keanu Reeves plays Neo!!! If they had used two different actors, it would have been way too confusing. Plus, they would have had to pay this other actor and the producers probably didn't want to do that.

It was not some grand plot convenience or anything like that. I seriously doubt that the writers, producers, etc.. even gave it a second thought. They cast Keanu Reeves as Neo...period.
