Regarding the recent Reader Poll question about your favorite food group, I'm a bit surprised that "meat" won by a landslide. I love meat and all you can do with it, but I'm surprised so many people picked that over the wonders of dairy (cheese, ice cream, etc) and the breads and grains (fresh bread has no peers).

Morris suggested the question, as a glance through the entries in the Reader Poll Contest will tell you, but he originally included a fifth answer, "Fats and sugars." There's a good reason why I didn't include that answer when I asked the question, and that reason should be self-evident. :-)
