I know I'm answering my own post, but there is an update on the above story. Yesterday afternoon, the News-Sentinal called and wanted to know if they could print my email as a letter to the editor. I said ok, but it wasn't in this morning's paper. I'll look again tomorrow. Gosh, I haven't had any of my stuff published in years!
