Contrary to popular belief, we are not a part of Canada, we don't have year round winter, and we don't have frozen tundra instead of trees and grass. Seriously, I think New England is a great part of the country. I've spent a lot of time down south, especially Texas, and it didn't have a patch on the good old Northeast. Summers are hot, winters cold, usually with a healthy dose of snow. I would hate to live in a place like Hawaii because the constant weather would drive me crazy. Fall is my favorite season, and it is truly beautiful here that time of year. You can have your deserts and rainforests and tropical paradises, give me Maine.

Gosh, Shai'tan, you just showed me how different people are. I get around. I've been to all 50 states, three Canadian provinces and three Mexican states, Guatamala, England, Wales and assorted Carribean islands. I love the tropics. I could live in Hawaii. But I like a lot of other places.
I've seen Maine in every season except winter and agree that fall there is beautiful. But have you seen the Southern Appalachians in the fall? I live an hour and a half from the Smokies and I can see spectacular fall foliage for hundreds of miles in any direction. In addition to the coast of Maine and Cape Cod I would list these beautiful places: Anywhere in Hawaii, Florida Keys, California's central coast, Oregan coast and Crater Lake, North Carolina's Outer Banks, Great Smokey Mountains, Guatamalan highlands, Cardif, Wales, White Sands, N.M., The deserts around Las Vegas, Glacier fields in southern Alaska(best seen from the air), the Tetons, Charleston, S.C. I guess my point is that you should live in a place you love, but travel and see other places. Remember, "He does not travel, reads only one page of the book." I wish I could remember who said that.
One more word about Hawaii: Those are high volcanic islands. If you get bored with the constant weather, just drive up a mountain. Maui goes to 10,024 feet and the Big Island goes over 13,000. You can go skiing up there! They also have every other climate you can think of, although the deserts on Mauna Kea are rather small.
