> Just one answer: yes. Not just the car doors, though that was bad enough. No matter *what* went wrong with the car, Cootie or whatever his name was would fix it by welding something. I kept hoping they would get a flat tyre so we could see him weld it back together...

Two observations:
-Most every road in the county was still dirt (save for in town), because after paying for more police cars, they couldn't afford to pave squat.
-The Duke boys & Daisy were all cousins to each other and they lived with their uncle. Did no one in their family have actual parents or siblings of their own??
