Today, we drove over the Crossville, Tennessee to our favorite theatre, the Cumberland County Playhouse. We saw Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" live on the stage. Most people have seen this on film in theaters, or on TV starring Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney.
CCP did it very well, as expected. The lead singers were excellent. But when they sang "How Deep is the Ocean," and "White Christmas," I kept trying to hear Rosemary and Bing.
The Playhouse always has top quality singers and dancers and the unseen orchestra is flawless.
Some of the performers were familiar faces, but there were also new ones.
I like fast moving plays with lots of music and dancing, and this one was all of that. I think somewhere Irving Berlin smiles every time somebody does that play.
