My grandparents occasionally talked about Kennedy's assassination. I believe that they were grocery shopping when somebody told them about it.

My grandma was in 8th grade when Pearl Harbor was attacked. Somebody brought a radio into the classroom, and they listened to Roosevelt reading the declaration of war.


For those of you who are conspiracy-minded, I highly recommend James Fetzer's "The Great Zapruder Film Hoax." Parts of it can be a little tough to get through, but it's well worth it. It examines various technical aspects of the Zapruder film and the general state of film-making at that time, and concludes for technical reasons (and other reasons, such as witness accounts) that the public version of the Zapruder film is a total fabrication.
