Oh, and "Hello", BTW

So I signed up and posted for the first time a couple of days ago, and with no introduction. Feel free to skip -- I'm not much of a fan of bios, myself, but some people like them, so here you go:

I'm a long time site user, but never really lurked the forums. Someone at work pointed out the Computer Stupidities page, I was amused by those, explored the site, and found that I really enjoy Sam's sense of humor. I also really enjoyed a lot of the games.

So I've been around for... oh, 6 years or so, but never actually communicated with anyone (unless you count beating them up in Monster Arena, which I won once or twice shortly after it came out -- I remember Issachar specifically, not that he was my only competition).

I'm a geek by trade (which is probably common), retired 2 yrs ago, lost all of my money and then some in the real estate crash, am declaring bankruptcy next month, and am looking for a job again. *sigh*

Weird Al is the best musician ever, Star Control II is the best game ever, and Ender's Game is the best book ever (the above notwithstanding, I actually prefer fantasy over Sci Fi most of the time). And no, those aren't opinions, those are facts. :)

I'm male, married, have 3 kids (and loving it), and am young enough to have (thankfully) missed 70s music, but old enough to remember Reagan's administration. The '89 Loma Prieta earthquake was life changing.

I've lived pretty much all over the US (including New Hampshire), but haven't experienced the Deep South. I expect that I'll be moving back to the San Jose area (since that's where geek jobs are), but am open at this point. I currently reside in Boise, Idaho.

I'd put in something about my dimensions and how I like long walks on the beach, but I've never actually been to one of those sites, so I'd probably just screw up the reference.
