(Pea Soup is only eight years old, but never mind.) But one time I got a very memorable email from someone who said, "I found your site YEARS, and I mean it must have been 10 years ago." At the time I received that email, RinkWorks was only three.

RinkChat for me will be difficult. When I'm at home on my computer in the evenings, I actually need to be more productive than I am at my "real job". When I'm here, I have a bit of time now and then to respond to email, check BBC news or you know, eat with both hands. At home, every second I spend on the computer has to be productive, because I've simply got too many irons in the fire. Well, if irons are websites and the fire is GoLive, and you add in some very impatient clients. I'd very gladly get out of web design completely if I could. Although the idea of an internet chat room containing proper grammar and spelling is a novel concept I shall have to explore sometime...

I quite distinctly remember telling certain friends of mine about this site in my 9th grade shop class (we got in trouble for sneaking over to the computer to read it when we were supposed to be staining our clocks), which I took the second half of the school year. I don't remember how long I'd been reading before that, but I guess it can't have been long, since there was a fair amount of content here when I started. I guess if pea soup is only 8 years old, I must have been carrying that around in high school. Over the years, I've pointed many a geeky friend this way, quoted many different parts of the site (my favorite is "silly Dennis Quaid, it's only mildly absolute zero out") and voted in many polls. I used to listen to the all movie talk podcasts while I was at work late Thursday nights laying out newspapers, though I still haven't finished the last few.
