So I forgot two things. Both were "you had to be there" things, so if you weren't there, never mind.

1. Counterpoint can imitate an elephant call with his french horn. Seriously, it sounds exactly the same. I think we were all pretty shocked at how close it was.

2. At the Krispy Kreme, I was sitting with famous and wintermute, and I don't have the foggiest idea what made her say it, but famous said, "You two should have a facial hair growing contest." I guess we both had five o'clock shadows (in my case, a five-o'clock-from-two-nights-ago shadow).

So wim, without missing a beat, said, "Ready......GO!", shut his eyes, and tensed every single facial muscle, quivering slightly from the intense strain and concentration.

"Well, not right now," famous laughed, as if doing this in an hour or two would have made sense.

We started joking about how one would win such a contest. I suggested that we eat desiccants to make our faces shrivel up (this is what causes the illusion that makes people think facial hair continues to grow after death...and I suppose if we ate desiccants, we *would* die). wintermute suggested putting little weights on the ends of each hair.
