I just stopped in to see how monster arena has gone since I left. Seems that gilgamesh has dominated.

When I was playing I found a 4/4/4 weapon 3/3/3 armor strategy to be best. The best part of it was that you got it going really fast and did very well in the preliminaries. Then at the end you ended up with a lot of hp to counteract the higher defense of the opponent.


After winning a few times with that I tried out higher attack weapons like a 5/5/4 or 8/5/4 setup and didnt do as well. (The 8 especially added way too much randomness to get you though all the hard end rounds, some opponent was bound to guess correctly).


Seems like Gilg has done great with 5/4/4, 4/4/4.

I find the 4 armor interesting because I used 4 armor when I started playing, but started winning when I went down to 3 armor and 4 weapon.


I never tried a 5/4/4 weapon setup, seems interesting. But Gilg winning with the 4/4/4 armor surprised me. I always did best with 3, and found the 4 armor too expensive (and the +4 enchant too expensive too).
