Lost, dazed, and confused.

Rope
Flower
Sword
Book
Jewel
Lance
Board
Magnifying Glass

I obviously need a key to reenter the castle, but have no idea how to get it. I killed some sort of sand monster, which doesn't seem to have been that useful. Help?
