Oh, one more note that boggles my mind: more than 500,000 people were under evacuation orders. For a county of just over 3 million people, that's about 16 percent of our population. I read today that more people were evacuated than during Katrina -- it is absolutely mind boggling to me that were able to accomplish such a feat with such apparent ease.
