Ok, here are some of my thoughts on the poem. Since it's poetry, the meaning is more in the reader's reaction than the author's intent, but I'm sure you'll still be interested in hearing what was going through my mind as I wrote it.

The idea of the poem was inspired by the line where God says, "Look, I make all things new." For me, that line offers a great deal of hope for those who have suffered, but especially for those who have caused suffering, which was the topic of my poem. We have all hurt people we love, and the scars we leave on them cause us deep guilt and sorrow because even if they move past the hurt and even if they forgive us, we still know that a part of them will always be damaged because of us, that we have caused irreparable harm. But, God promises to make all things new. He doesn't promise that He'll patch up our wounds but leave our scars, put Humpty-Dumpty back together but leave him with a cracked eggshell. He promises to make us new, to make us whole. And so, that's an immense comfort not only to those who have suffered immensely and battle those scars their whole life, but also for those who feel deep regret for the scars they have caused to others. God will heal those scars so that we can be freed of our suffering and our guilt, and I explored that idea through this poem.

So that was the main idea. The only other thing I think I should talk about is the girl. She's not supposed to be an angel, and she has wings mostly to add a sense of of beauty and mystery to her that honestly should be the way we think about all women.

And I suppose there's more I can say, but it'd all be minor details. Any further thoughts?
