Oddly enough, it will substitute for protective gloves when you need 'em. Go figure.

As for the scalpel: a painting in the art room shows a knife sharpener using a spinning metal cylinder to sharpen his blade on.

Mrs. A's room has a metal cylinder. It's used to hold towels, but won't spin.

If you LINK a big cog to a little cog and then make the big one spin, the little one will too. Conveniently, there's an exercise bike with a wheel in the same room as the metal towel holder. (The bike does work, you may need to adjust it a bit.)

And I need to pack up my laptop and get on the road again for several hours, so that's all for now...
