> We stopped for supper last night in a small Middle Tennessee town. The diner was decorated with 20th century CocaCola memoribilia. Most of the men eating there were wearing their hat, so I kept mine on too. There were lots of blue jeans and facial hair, and plenty of boots and work shoes. There were a couple of 300 pounders present and some of the men were big too. The menu was extensive with lots of fish, chicken and beef. I had a philly steak sandwich and the three ladies with me had fish. There were several children present including a set of twins about a year old. Almost all of the kids came in with grandparents. One of the two waitresses was pregnant, and the owner had a goatee. The music was country. > > If you like atmosphere, you would like this place. The food wasn't bad, but I got sick. I really thing it was some pudding I ate a couple of hours latter. > Howard
This sounds almost like the exact opposite of the place I had dinner with my family in Monaco about a month ago. There were five of us: me, my mother, my little brother, my mother's friend, and her daughter. My little brother was the only one not to have fish. He had a Mexican-style pizza. Three of us drank wine, my little brother drank Coca Cola, and my mother's friend's daughter drank water. The dish I had was quite tasty, but very bland. It consisted of deep-fried fish and crustaceans. And a side salad. Nothing else. No potatoes, no rice, not even any decorative vegetables. The bill came to €100, which I guess is about $129 nowadays. Not bad, for such an expensive country as Monaco.
