1) 560 gold will be Darius' price once you've convinced him. Don't worry about selling anything else. The two spare gold coins can buy you something useful in your hometown.
2) Convincing him requires a focus stone. Obtaining the focus stone isn't that intuitive, but it involves the most incredibly satisfying act of destruction in the entire game, IMO. It's time to introduce the Gate of Despair to the Boulder of Doom. ;)
