I hope that you haven't lost that tendency too much since fifth grade. Almost every college professor I've met absolutely loves it when a student asks questions.
Yeah... reading this makes me remember when I was in kindergarten and asked for the white crayon. The teacher asked what for and I said "for wind" and thought, but didn't say "of course for the wind.. how silly can you be not to know I need it for wind, and especially to ask me "what for" in a tone that said I was silly for wanting it!" I learned early on, I guess, that teachers aren't always right.
