I quite liked it, though I don't think it made my top 10 of the year.

Sin City did the whole green screen thing rather better, but I'm a sucker for pulp fiction (Indiana Jones, The Rocketeer, The Phantom - all good fun), and Sky Captain does it pretty well. The acting was a little stiff, but that fits in with the style reasonably well. I liked the world, though there should have been more exposition on how often people like Sky Captain needed to save the world from murderous robots.

On reflection, I'm not exactly sure why I kind of like it, and why I don't like it more. It seemed competent, but not especially exceptional.
