The acting in this movie is terrible, but that's a small thing to endure for such an enchanting fantasy adventure story, chock full of the unique and memorable creatures of Ray Harryhausen. His greatest creations remain the skeletons from Jason and the Argonauts (for which a dry run can be seen here) and Medusa from Clash of the Titans, but close behind is the cyclops from this movie, which makes an indelible impression. Even aside from the creatures, however, the story has ample charm.
