Some continuity between this and the previous film would have been nice, as well as capturing its unique charm. Garner's character no longer has that haughty, put-upon nature ("Now what'd you have to go and do that for?") that made him so funny. He's inexplicably developed a gambling problem, and Joan Hackett is mysteriously missing. If you don't try to put this film in the same universe as Support Your Local Sheriff!, you have a mildly entertaining comedy-western -- but the original is still far superior.
