Though it has a horrible middle, which hits all the wrong emotional chords, the beginning and the end of Rocky V make for an improvement over the simplistic Rocky IV thanks to better writing and a break from the formula. Stallone has written some nice lines for himself, and his performance of them reminded me why I like the character.
