James Garner is good in the right roles, but who thought Raymond Chandler's hard boiled Philip Marlowe was one? This film is diverting enough, particularly during an unusual cameo appearance of Bruce Lee, but why do we need this when other, better adaptations of Chandler's work abound? Still, this is a decent enough fix for mystery buffs.
