Mel Gibson and Danny Glover have a surprisingly dynamic chemistry in this buddy action flick. Glover is an ageing policeman with a family; Gibson is a killing machine on edge with some psychological problems. The two, begrudgingly at first, team up to bust a crime ring. There's a lot of action -- the film helped usher in the modern action flick genre -- but the real fun is watching the two stars play with their characters and off each other.
