In sharp contrast with its predecessors, Jurassic Park III has no grand intentions. It's a monster movie and seeks to be nothing more. It wastes no time getting to the action and makes no apologies for the absence of character development.
Paradoxically, this approach prevents it from being a great film, while ensuring that it is a good one. It may accomplish little, but I can't complain too much about a film that succeeds at exactly what it sets out to do. It's not as intense as the first two films, but it keeps things moving and even shows us a few things we haven't seen before. And I have to admit, even after three movies and eight years, the dinosaurs still inspire me.
