There wasn't any reason to make this sequel, and the pains that are taken to make the two main characters, played by Bryan Brown and Brian Dennehy, available for another adventure are flimsy. But the movie isn't all that bad for a fun action film. Again, Brown is hired for his special effects services -- this time the police hire him to ensnare a killer. But things go wrong, and he finds himself on the run again. The movie falters when the things Brown devises to save himself from sticky situations resemble things MacGyver might do more than the special effects tricks used in the first movie -- but no matter.
