Bryan Brown plays a special effects wizard in the movies. He is hired by an FBI agent to stage the death of an ex-mob client of the Witness Protection Program. The web of intrigue and deception begins there, and Brown soon finds himself running for his life.
I like movies about illusions and con games, and I enjoyed F/X, which played the game pretty well. I found it a little disconcerting whenever anybody expounded on the films Brown had worked on -- not recognizing any of them, when all the characters revered them, served as a nagging reminder that I wasn't watching anything real. But this is a minor issue. F/X requires some suspension of disbelief, but it's a fun movie and is therefore a rewarding experience.
