Why? When you make controversial statements, you should expect strong responses.

(This is the part where I get personal and flag this message for deletion.) I suspect you say this largely because of my posts to you personally and not my posts to others. With regard to our frequent disagreements:

I think I will lighten up in my responses to you. Previously I have attempted to actually respond to your arguments with somewhat reasoned responses. Now I know I should just make fun of you when you post nutjob stuff about Bildebergers and science cabals. I don't really care about convincing you, but I would hate for any other reader of the forum to take you seriously. Do you think simple derision would be more succesful in accomplishing this goal?

I've been around this forum long enough to reasonably suspect that your arguments against rationality and in favor of lightening up will not find much purhcase around these parts. We're accustomed to discussing things -- even trivial matters like the latest Superman movie -- seriously and with intelligence. I know this sort of analysis makes it much more dififcult to ply your specific brand of off-the-cuff nonsense, but there is a whole Internet out there more than happy to receive it.
