I was almost sure the Towncreek Greenway was finished, so I put my bike in the truck and headed into town. I parked near the middle at a parking lot between the old part and the new part. Naturally I went for the new. Since this walkway/bikeway follows the creek, it is slightly uphill if you are going upstream.

My bike is a 20th century three-speed and I found that I was using 1st and 2nd a lot. There was also a headwind.

Well, I found out the Greenway wasn't finished. About a half mile upstream from my truck, I came upon two hombres pouring concrete.

So I turned around. With the wind and the gradient in my favor I got in the 3rd gear and away I went. I sailed past the truck and covered the old half mile all the way to Broadway. About that time it occurred to me that it was uphill all the way back to the truck.

But it was good exercise and I will do it again soon. I just can't believe that I forgot to take the camera.
