Talking about population, everybody knows that it isn't evenly distributed, but it's amazing what a huge range there is. I didn't do an exhaustive search, but I found Australia with 7 people per square mile, up to Bangladesh with 2,594. The US is actually near the low end of the range, with 80 people per square mile. We are just now approaching 300 million people. If we had Australia's density, we would have 25 million. If we had the UK's density (635), our population would be 2.247 billion--or almost as much as China and India combined. With Bangladesh's density, we would have almost 9.2 billion, which is about what the world's population is projected to reach in 45 years.
