Some years ago, the state of California named a new building for their ex-governor who went on to be president of the United States. The official name of the building was Ronald Reagan State Office Building.

But after a number of communications referred to it by spelling out Reagan's name followed by the abbreviation for State Office Building, it was quickly changed to Ronald Reagan State Building.

I did not make that up. I heard it from a native Californian.
